Steven D. Rothberg - Executive Vice President

Meet Our Principals – Capital 1031 Exchange Company is managed by Steven D. Rothberg, Esquire, a real estate attorney with over two decades in the tax deferred exchange area. Mr. Rothberg was a former counsel to the one of the largest exchange companies in America and is a frequent lecturer throughout the region on the topic of 1031 tax deferred exchange transactions.

 

Steven Rothberg brings the expertise to your transaction, along with a “hands on” approach to ensure that Capital 1031 is involved in every step of the process.

 

Steven received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a concentration in Economics, from the University of Delaware in 1987, where he graduated with honors. Steven also interned in the U.S. Senate for New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley.

 

Steven is a graduate of the Temple University School of Law, where he was an Editor of the Temple Environmental Law and Technical Journal, and a member of the distinguished Trial Advocacy Team. Steven concentrated his law studies on taxation and transactional real estate. He has been admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania since 1990, and has served as the Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Real Estate Section, and on the Board of Governors for the Philadelphia Bar.

 

Steven resides in Southern New Jersey with his wife and two children. He is active in the Southern New Jersey Outdoors Club and is a lifetime honoree of The Nature Conservancy. Steven is also active in the Golden Slipper Charities, which provide a variety of educational, social and cultural opportunities to disadvantaged children, adults and seniors.

Eric Salant - Senior Vice President

Meet our Principals – Eric Salant, Esq. is Director of Business Development for Capital 1031 Exchange Company, LLC and Capital Real Estate IRA, LLC. He brings over 18 years experience in facilitating tax deferred exchanges, both as an attorney and Qualified Intermediary, and brings this experience to Capital’s clients.

 

Eric’s has over 25 years experience as an attorney, representing businesses and individuals in commercial and residential real estate transactions; land use and development; project financing; and acquisitions and transfers of business assets.

 

Eric has spoken and lectured extensively on various Real Estate related topics including 1031 Exchanges, Surveying and Property Tax Appeals. His audiences include attorneys, accountants and Realtors, and various professional and trade organizations. He offers practical real world experience in presenting these topics before practitioners.

 

Eric received his BS in Marketing and Finance, magna cum laude, from the University at Albany, and his JD from St. John’s University. At St. John’s, Eric was the student Editor in Chief of the New York Real Property Law Journal, a publication of the Real Property Committee of the New York State Bar Association.

 

He was also a member and active on committees of the Real Property Section of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and past President of the New Jersey Chapter of the St. John’s University Law School Alumni Association.

 

Eric’s interests include cycling, traveling and spending time with his wife, daughters and his dog, Doc. He volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician in his community, and for human and animal rights projects.

 

He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York and before the Federal Courts.
